But what does the Acts of the Apostles say?

The word "Acts of the Apostles" already gives you a bit of a hint. This book tells what happened in the time after the resurrection and the ascension of the Lord Jesus, when the apostles lived and worked. The Holy Spirit worked through the apostles, so that the gospel spread greatly.

Now read Acts 1 verses 8 to 11. Here the Lord Jesus says to his disciples:

A witness is one who relates what they have seen, heard, or experienced. The disciples themselves have experienced the life of the Lord Jesus.

Therefore, they were meant to tell people all over the earth about the Lord Jesus. For example, they should tell who He is and what He has done.
