Pray - and also give thanks

Do not forget to give thanks when you pray! Your father and mother taught you from an early age to say "Thank you" when you received something. And that's how it should be! Well, God also has a right to receive our thanks for the things He gives us. Does God really give us that much? Yes! In a German song we sing:

Give thanks consciously and with a childlike soul,
Thank the Lord and do not forget Him.
Giving thanks opens all the channels of heaven:
Only thank Him, and your life will be light!

Listing our blessings makes us happy and grateful. Let's start with that. Many people are starving. Some are constantly ill. Others feel lonely and abandoned in this world; there is no one who likes them. Name a few things for which you can be grateful:

However, there are blessings for which we can be even more grateful. For example, we have the Bible, in which we can read who God is. What is the greatest gift, the greatest gift of God to mankind? (John 3:16)
