The End of the Law

Many Christians strive wholeheartedly to keep the Ten Commandments and are deeply convinced that this is what the Lord expects of them.

In this lesson, we want to address the believer's position toward the law. In the epistle to the Romans and the Galatians, we find detailed teachings about how the redeemed should behave in relation to the law. We want to look especially at passages from these two letters.

A. For what time and for whom was the law?

1

Since when has the law existed?

Your response:

Exodus 20:
John 1:17a:
The law was given through Moses.
And God spoke all these words - the 10 Commandments.
2

Who was under the law?

Your response:

Romans 2:12
Romans 2:17
Romans 9:4
Acts 7:53
Who are Israelites; whose is the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the law-giving.
Who have received the law as ordained by the ministry of angels, and have not kept it.
But if you are named a Jew, and rest in the law, and make your boast in God.
As many as have sinned under law will be judged by law.
3

And who had no law?

Romans 2:14 says:

Your response:

"For when those of the   , which have no law ..."
1 Corinthians 9:20-21 also confirms this.
