Perhaps you already know that the Bible consists of two parts: the Old Testament and the New Testament.
The New Testament is the second and smaller part. It begins with the book of "Matthew" and ends with the book of "Revelation". As the names of the Bible books are indicated at the top of the pages, I believe you should be able to locate both easily.
Have you found Matthew? Good!
Then open Matthew 10, that is: Matthew, chapter 10. The chapter number '10' is usually printed in large numbers.
Found it? Now look for Matthew, Chapter 10 Verse 2, abbreviated: Matthew 10:2. A little below the large printed number 10, you'll find a small '2'. Now you know exactly where Matthew 10:2 is. Not difficult, right?
In the New Testament, there are a total of 27 books. The first four of these books are also called the "Gospels". They are named:
The gospels bear the names of those who wrote them. In this Bible course, we will read all four.
In it we learn a lot about Jesus. He is the Son of God. He came from heaven and as a child was laid in a manger in Bethlehem. When He became a man, He traveled through the land of Canaan or Palestine (which is where the state of Israel is located today), so people could see who He was and what He did. They could also hear everything He had to say to them.
During His long journeys, there were always 12 men with Him. These were His apprentices or disciples.
So remember well: The Lord Jesus was the teacher and His 12 disciples were the apprentices.
Now we begin with the questions.
Write down the 4 Gospels once, and in the correct order.
Your response:
Two of the four authors were apostles of the Lord Jesus.
Which were they?
You can find it in Matthew 10:2 and 3.
Where is Matthew seated when Jesus passes by?
Read Matthew 9 from verse 9.
