The Twelve Disciples

Thomas

Thomas, or Didymus, means "twin brother". We know very little about this disciple. It is not reported where he lived or who his parents were. Nothing is conveyed about his life and his work.

The little that is known about this disciple can be read in the Gospel of John.

We first read about Thomas in John 11:16. To understand this verse well, you need to read the entire section from verses 1 to 16.

This village is in Judaea, not far from the 'dangerous' city of Jerusalem, where the leaders of the people were.

Why were the disciples afraid when their teacher wants to go there? (Verse 8)
