The Twelve Disciples

Simon Peter (1)

We have already seen that Judas is always named last in the list of the twelve disciples. It then says: "Judas, who also became his betrayer", "Judas Iscariot, who also delivered him up" or similar.

First in the list of disciples, we always find Simon Peter. We will deal with him in the next four lessons.

You already know that his brother Andrew brought him to Jesus. That was his first encounter with the Master (John 1:41-42).

What new name does he then receive from Jesus?

Your response:

Jesus said to him: you will be called   (that is: Stone).

Your response:

4

After his encounter with Jesus, Peter faithfully followed his Lord.

Do you also know from which moment? Read the story of the miraculous catch of fish in Luke 5:1-11.

What does Simon do when he sees that the two boats are so full of fish that they are almost sinking?

Your response:

But Simon Peter, seeing it,   at   knees, saying,
Depart from me, for I am a   man, Lord.
