The Bible

Hello! I'm glad you want to join the Bible course!

I want to tell you from the beginning that answering the questions should bring you joy. Do you find a question too difficult? Then give it a try anyway. I always think that a wrong answer is better than no answer at all. At least it shows me that you have thought about the question! And then, I can provide the correct answer. This is a quick way to learn!

But let's start now: Today I will tell you something about the Bible: The Bible is a very ancient book. Even my grandpa and great-grandpa read in it. But it is much, much older. The last page of this book was written about 1900 years ago. However, this book is still being printed repeatedly today. I read the Bible in the German language, but it is also available in more than 350 other languages. For example in Russian, Spanish, and Romanian. I'm going to write a verse from the Gospel of John in four different languages for you:

Deutsch
Denn so hat Gott die Welt geliebt, dass er seinen eingeborenen Sohn gab, damit jeder, der an ihn glaubt, nicht verloren gehe, sondern ewiges Leben habe.

Englisch
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Russisch
Ибо так возлюбил Бог мир, что отдал Сына Своего единородного, дабы всякий, верующий в Него, не погиб, но имел жизнь вечную

Türkisch
Tanrı dünyayı öyle sevdi ki, biricik Oğlu 'nu verdi. Şöyle ki, O'na her kim iman ederse mahvolmasın, ama sonsuz yaşama kavuşsun.

Ask your parents or grandparents if they have a Bible that you may look at.

Now you certainly want to know what is to be read in the Bible. You will find stories, songs, poems, and experiences of many people who lived a very long time ago. The most important person in this book is God Himself, who also gave this book.

The Bible is even the only book on the whole Earth where you can read,

  • who God is,
  • where the earth and people come from,
  • how we can get to heaven,
  • what will happen to the earth in the future

and much more besides that. Let me give you a few examples:

  • God is love.
  • God loved the world.
  • God sent His Son into the world.
  • This Son of God is named Jesus Christ.

So, now I have probably told you enough. Therefore, here are my questions to you. When you have found the answers, please write them in the fields provided below:

1

I have told you that the Bible is a very old book. Do you remember how old the Bible is?

Your response:

2

Do you still know who the most important person in the Bible is?

Your response:

3

Please arrange the sentence parts so you can correctly read the verse from John 3:16!

Your response:

For God
that He gave
so that anyone who believes in Him,
but have eternal life
may not perish,
so loved the world,
His only begotten Son,
(John 3:16).
