Great that you are already at lesson 4!
We have already learned that the Bible tells us where the earth and the people come from. That's exactly what this lesson is about: The Creation.
When there was still no earth, no people, and no animals, God decided to create something. God is so great and so powerful that He only needs to speak a word, and then it happens. Thus, a very long time ago, God said that the earth should come into existence, and suddenly it was there!
Then He said: "Let there be light", and it became bright on earth. He did the same with the plants and the animals. Lastly, He created man.
Today, there are many people who believe that humans descended from animals and evolved on their own. But the Bible, the Word of God, says:
Genesis 2:7
The first man was named Adam and his wife was Eva. You have certainly heard these names before. We all descend from these two people. Adam and Eva lived in paradise. This was a place where everything was beautiful and peaceful. They lived there for a while. Until the moment came when they were disobedient for the first time. They ate something that God had forbidden them! That was sin.
Therefore, God punished them and sent them out of Paradise. Now their peaceful life was over and they had to work hard until they died. This remains the case until today. All people living today are descendants of Adam and Eve and therefore sinners. Hence, all people have also sinned, meaning, everyone has at some point been disobedient to God. This is why all people must die once.
Some people die when they have grown old. But I have also heard of many children and adolescents who fell ill or had an accident and suddenly died.
But after death comes something much worse: every sinner will once be thrown into hell by God. This is a terrifying place where such people are eternally separated from God and receive a punishment that never ends.
However, God loves people and you very much. Therefore, He has given a way to be spared from such a severe punishment: if you recognize your sins and truly regret them, then confess your sins to God! Actually, it's not difficult at all: just tell God all the bad things in your life that you can remember: where you have lied, been rude or disobedient, or perhaps even stolen. Surely, you know more.
And tell God that you are sorry. He has promised to forgive all your sins. He can offer you this, because the Lord Jesus died for you. He now wants to be with you all your life! And when you die, you will go to the Lord Jesus in Heaven. It's even more beautiful there than it was in Paradise.
And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, you and your house. (Acts 16:31)
