Today I will tell you something about the life of the Lord Jesus. You already know a little about it...
The Lord Jesus was born in Bethlehem, a small town in Israel. His mother was named Mary. Her husband was named Joseph. The Bible tells little of the Lord's childhood and youth. However, we read about Him, for example, that He was always obedient to His parents.
As He got older, He traveled a lot around Israel.
Meanwhile, 12 friends went with Him. He called these friends "disciples", and later also "apostles". The most famous of them were Peter, John, and James.
When the Lord Jesus came into a city or a village, He spoke to the inhabitants. He told them how they should live in order to please God. He showed them their mistakes and evil deeds. You already know what this involved: for example, lying, stealing, or disobedience. Then He asked them to confess their sins to God and ask for forgiveness. The Lord Jesus knew that God must punish every sin.
But because He loves people so much, He wants to save them from this punishment. God indeed forgives anyone who is truly sorry for his sins and confesses them to Him.
Jesus who was of Nazareth: how God anointed him with the Holy Spirit and with power; who went through all quarters doing good, and healing all that were under the power of the devil, because God was with him. (Acts 10:38)
But the Lord Jesus also performed many miracles. You already know that the Lord Jesus is the Son of God. Because of this, He has the power to do things we can't do. For example, He healed many sick people: the blind were able to see again, the lame could walk again, the mute could speak again and the deaf could hear again. Even the dead were brought back to life when He commanded them to.
