The Bible Course for Children

The Blind Man

1

Allow the children to come to me, and do not hinder them!

(This means: Do not prevent them from coming to me!)

Do you know who said this?

You can find the answer in Luke 18 verse 16!

Your response:

This was said by   .

By now, you have learned how to find something in the Bible. So today, we would like to find out together what the Lord Jesus meant with this statement. For He also said on another occasion: "Come to me" (Matthew 11:28). So, He is waiting for you. Do you know why He is waiting for you? Because He loves you very much!

Imagine, your mother, who also loves you, calls for you. If you do not pay any attention at all, she is surely very sad. But even sadder is the Lord Jesus, if you do not pay attention to the fact that He is calling you lovingly again. Once, when I asked a girl how one can come to the Lord Jesus, she said:
"When one dies."
Do you think that the answer was entirely correct?
Well, it was correct, but something is missing. It is true that you will come to Him in heaven one day if you have told the Lord Jesus your sins and believe that He also died on the cross for you. After He has risen, He has gone back up to heaven and wants to take you there as well when you die.

But you can come to the Lord Jesus today! Today, while you are living on earth! Wherever you are right now, you can come to Him and talk with Him. You might say: "But I can't see Him! How can I talk with Him?"

The same difficulty was once experienced by a man. It was during the time when the Lord Jesus lived here on earth. The man wanted to go to the Lord Jesus, but he couldn't. Can you imagine why?

The man was blind! But fortunately, he could speak. And that's what he did: he shouted very loudly.

Your response:

Choose the correct expressions:
"And he cried out and said: Jesus,   ,   !".
You can find this in Luke 18:38.

Although he could not see the Lord Jesus at all, he simply believed that the Lord Jesus hears him.

What do you think ? Did the Lord Jesus just continue on? No!

When He heard that someone wanted to come to Him, He was so delighted that He immediately stopped. And then He listened very closely to what the man was shouting.

You can speak too, can't you? Then do it just like this man. Speak to the Lord Jesus, wherever you are right now, and be convinced that He hears you just as He heard the blind man.

Belief means to be 'rock-solid convinced'!

The blind man believed that the Lord Jesus could help him. And the Lord Jesus did help him! He healed him, so that he could see again.

I already told you in lesson 5 that the Lord Jesus has performed many miracles.

Write to me again why the Lord Jesus could perform such miracles.

(If you can't remember anymore and can't find the 5th lesson, I'll reveal the answer in the 9th lesson.)

Your response:

Thus, you can also know with certainty that He forgives your sins when you ask Him.

What did He say in the Gospel of John, chapter 6, verse 37?

Sort the sentence parts correctly!

Your response:

  • and him who comes to me
  • cast out" (John 6:37).
  • I will not at all
  • "All that the Father gives me
  • will come to me,
