The english word Church is derived from the Greek "kyriake" (belonging to the Lord).
The original text uses "ekklesia" (the called out ones), which is also translated as "congregation" or "assembly".
The true Church of Jesus Christ is composed of all believers who have been born again since Pentecost. They are all united with Christ, and each member is known by Him, as He declares in John 10:14, "I know Mine."
God uses various images in the Bible to help us understand what the Church (congregation or assembly) is.

Your response:
Then, the Church, or more precisely, Christ, is illustratively compared to a body.
Please read 1 Corinthians 12:12-27.
The image of the body shows us several things:
The body has a head (Colossians 1:18), it is: .
The body has many members (1 Corinthians 12:27), these are: .
Believers are simultaneously also referred to as the body of Christ, and individual members.
This is coupled with further insights, namely that believers have an inseparable connection with the Lord, that diversity among believers is God-ordained, and that they are interconnected and interdependent. Just as a living, human body functions.
Also, the church (assembly, community) is illustrated with another image, the relationship between the bridegroom and the bride.
The characteristics of this relationship are worked out in the assignment:
Only those who have life from God - who have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior in faith - belong to the true church!
